About my practice

Counseling & Consulting

My counseling and consulting work is done exclusively through a secure and HIPPA-compliant platform for your convenience and security.

benefits of telehealth

Telehealth (online therapy) can be as engaging and effective as traditional face-to-face therapy. It’s convenient, and an online counseling session with me will be easier to fit into your schedule. You don’t have to drive in rush-hour traffic, and you may also not need to take leave from work or arrange for childcare.

You will likely find telehealth more comfortable than face-to-face therapy. Instead of sitting in the waiting room of an office, you can do your session from the comfort of your own bed, sofa, office, or even car. Telehealth is also private: Nobody has to know that you are in counseling. My platform adheres to HIPAA security and privacy requirements, and you don’t have to worry about accidentally running into someone in the waiting room.

what to expect during your session

Counseling is a highly individual process. The counseling process for you will likely not be the same as that of your sister or your best friend. During the first session, we will get to know each other and discuss what brought you to counseling. We will talk about your hopes and what you want to see result from our time together. Together we will work through an individualized plan that is specific to you and your life.

Is therapy right for me?

Going to see a therapist when a relationship ends, does not mean you are weak or unloved. You have friends and family that love you and support you, but they have their own biases and feelings about your ex. A therapist is a trained professional who can provide a safe, judgement free space where you can share anything.

Custody Evaluation

Custody Evaluations are done in person.

When parents are not able to agree on the details of their custody arrangement, or how to best meet the needs of their child(ren), the judge presiding over the case may order a Custody Evaluation. The court-appointed trained professional who performs the Evaluation assesses the strengths and deficits of each parent or guardian, along with the emotional and physical needs of the child(ren). After the process is complete, the Evaluator makes a recommendation to the Court regarding conservatorship. The judge uses this recommendation as part of the criteria to make the final decision regarding what is in the best interest of the child(ren). If I have been appointed as your Evaluator, please reach out to me so that we can begin the process.
